Knex roller coasters are amazingly fun to build, watch, and tear down for that matter, but if you don't have supplies...how do you build?

I know there are several people on this forum, the best example being Jogumpie, that have more Knex then they know what to do with.
How do you get so much?

It's hard to believe that someone could spend thousands of dollars on that stuff...do they have connections in Knex or something?

I think Gump and RCK are the leaders in terms of piece count. They do have ridiculous amounts. I know that RCK (rollercoasterkid) was a KnExpert, which won him a very nice amount of pieces.

Just borrow from friends who built the Screamin' Serpent when they were younger and/or go to yard sales. That's how I have gotten all my pieces.

A few years ago a friend of mine dumped all of his knex at my place, as a present for my birthday. Sure had to be 5000+ pieces. Furthermore I do have (or had) connections within the Knex company, so I managed to get (a lot) of free pieces. And y'know... I'm almost 21 and during my childhood I got loads of kits, just as my brothers, which is now just one huge collection of pieces.
